Concerts to Benefit the People of New Orleans

When I think of New Orleans, I think of music... from jazz and blues at Preservation Hall to Tipitina's to little holes-in-the-wall where guys play washboards...what better way to raise money quickly for the people of New Orleans than a concert:

Big Apple for the Big Easy, Madison Square Garden September 20

Concert for the Gulf Coast, Friday September 9 at 8pm on NBC
September 19 @ Lincoln Center
Jazz Marathon September 11 in Washington DC
San Francisco September 9

I still remember one night during Mardi Gras maybe 12 years ago when Melissa and I were in a little bar on the corner featuring a local band with a Gladys Knight-esque lead singer...they sang Midnight Train to Georgia and the crowd just kept shouting "again, again"... they must have sung that song five times...

Oh... THAT's Melissa...

Remember the Nevilles at HOB? That was cool.
