Of course you do - but aren't you glad that you do? Glad that he was such a wonderful man so that you *do* feel sad?
I know that my husband wishes that he could feel like that about his mother, who died of cancer last year. They'd been estranged for several years beforehand (and she'd left him and his four siblings when he was eight) and 'made peace' just before she died, but he'll never be able to say 'I miss my Mum.' That, in a way, is even sadder than missing someone because you *did* genuinely love them....
Sorry - this wasn't meant to be a rant, but a way of saying to you that actually, you feeling like that about your father is beautiful.
Thanks, Kath... you are absolutely right. I was very lucky to have almost 40 years with a wonderful father. I thought about that at church on Sunday when our pastor gave a sermon on "being content"...and while I do miss my dad, especially around the holidays, I am thankful for him every day.

Hugs sweetie, he'll forever remain in your heart, so take comfort in that yeah? :)
