Music Monday Inauguration Edition and Roxy's Resolutions Support Group Update: Change by John Waite

While I didn't vote for Barack Obama, I'm doing my best to get on board with his presidency in the best interest of our country. George W. Bush just didn't get the job done. With that in mind, for this week's Music Monday, I offer you "Change" by John Waite. The link takes you to the official web site of the U.S. Presidential transition team. The Obama-Biden agenda begins with revitalizing the economy, ending the war in Iraq, providing health care for all, protecting America, and renewing American global leadership... hard to argue with any of that, and I can only hope that the stock market greets Inauguration Day with a favorable run, believing in greater things to come.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to provide a brief update on Roxy's Resolutions Blogosphere Buddies Support Group, and our progress (or lack thereof) against our 2009 New Year's Resolutions. I don't believe I can take much credit for it, since my rickety knees have prevented much of a workout for the past two weekends, but my weight is back down to 145, so I'm on track to hit my weight loss goals. I think I can honestly say that I've been a kinder, gentler Roxy over the first two weeks of January... being more patient with others and not yelling as much. If you've shared your resolutions here at Roxiticus Desperate Housewives, please leave a comment on this post to let us know how you're doing against your objectives. If you didn't make any New Year's resolutions, but there's something you'd like to change about yourself or the world in 2009, please leave us a comment and join our online support group.

People talking
And they're saying that you're leaving
So unhappy
With the way that you've been living
Oh oh oh
We always wish for money
We always wish for fame
We think we have the answers
Some things ain't ever gonna change (change)
It doesn't matter who you are
It's all the same (change)
What's in your heart will never change
Look in the mirror
And you see how you've been taken
You won't surrender
But now your heart is breakin'
Oh oh oh
We always wish for money
We always wish for fame
We think we have the answers
Some things ain't ever gonna change (change)
It doesn't matter who you are
It's all the same (change)
What's in your heart will never change
Do you remember
When you got your lucky break
You're looking back now
And it seems like a mistake
Oh oh oh
We always wish for money
We always wish for fame
We think we have the answers
Some things ain't ever gonna change (change)
It doesn't matter who you are
It's all the same (change)
What's in your heart will never change
It's only change (change)
It doesn't matter who you are
It's all the same (change)
What's in your heart will never change
It doesn't matter who you are
It's all the same (change)
What's in your heart will stay the same
It doesn't matter who you are
It's all the same (whats in your heart)
It's only
It's only
It's only change
Never (it doesn't matter)
You ain't gonna
You ain't gonna change (what's in your heart)
You ain't gonna change
Doesn't matter who you are

I may not be living in the U.S. but we are all hoping that Obama will bring a great deal of change!

Great sentiments to go with the song and I just love being transported back to the 80s! AWESOME!

Happy Music Monday!

here's to hoping for a great new beginning for our great country! i was thinking about going with the "change" theme this Monday, too, but didn't want to jinx it... so, i'll just gravy train on your change vibe instead! ;)

cheers!

Change is indeed the only constant thing, and I admire people who are open to it, let's hope Obama does a good job, especially in solving the economic crises, because if the US' economy is stable, so will our be... :D Happy Monday! :D

John Waite had another song? I never knew. Just dropping by to vote and thank you for not being one of those scary McCain supporters we saw all over YouTube and still see whining up the blogosphere.

BTW, am I allowed to add my Metal Monday post to your auto link thingy?

Jason,
I'm sure it would be fine to add your Metal Monday post to the auto link thingy, though our Music Monday is run by LadyJava so you should stop by her lounge and grab the code and a latte.

Hi Roxy.
Good pick, we do need some change in this crazy world of ours. Just like Shemah, I hope the change is for better.
It´s been ages since I last heard John Waite, but he was a must in my rock years. A great guitar and good lyrics.
Good Tuesday xx

update on my resolutions progress: I visited my physician this week, sadly I seem to have hit a plateau. I have not lost any more weight, but I have not gained any either since the beginning of Nov. Dr. said that was good, surviving all the holiday goodies, parties, and meals and not gaining. Somehow I just wish with all the hard work I would have lost even just a pound. But that takes me to another resolution...to not sweat the small stuff, so I guess I have having trouble with that one as well...

I am also well into my quest to de-clutter and organize my life thanks to FreecycleMorrisNJ

How are all the others in the support group doing?
