New Year's Traditions: Resolutions, Rose Parade, and College Football Bowl Games

Wishing you all a Happy New Year 2009, filled with health, happiness, peace and joy...

London and Maddie, Rex and I are starting our day with a chocolate chip pancake breakfast, to be followed by the annual Tournament of Roses Parade on TV... my sister, Aunt Veg, and her husband, Uncle Quiet, live in Pasadena and have attended the parade in past years... the girls and I will have to watch for them on TV just in case. The photo on the left is just a reminder that Disney Princesses don't come out in the rain... it's a beautiful Disney float from 2006, and you can see Mickey Mouse, but Cinderella and friends must be staying dry inside their castles.

After the parade, we'll have the college football bowl games on the big screen in the background as Rex cooks (watch for his famous Macaroni & Cheese and Rosemary Meat Loaf recipes later today in Rex's Recipes)... the girls and I are also planning to make a huge pot of meat sauce to have on hand for pasta dinners.

What are your plans and traditions for New Year's Day?
