Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, New Jersey

On my first grader's trip to the Bronx Zoo yesterday, the moms got to talking about what would be the next big school trips. I will, of course, be returning to the Bronx Zoo next year with my younger daughter, but wondered what lies ahead in the second grade, third grade, and fourth grade at Mendham Township Elementary School. According to a couple of the moms who have older kids, the MTES big field trip for second graders is to the Museum of Natural History in NYC, while third graders go to the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, New Jersey. I've never been there before, as it was closed for a year or so for renovations right around the time my girls would have been old enough to enjoy it.

We may have to take the girls before they hit the third grade, though...I was checking out the Liberty Science Center web site and learned that "Goose Bumps! The Science of Fear" opens on Saturday, May 31st: If you like “Fear Factor” you’ll love to Face Your Fears at Liberty Science Center! This presentation helps guests consider their innermost fears and examine their responses to different stimuli. It even includes plenty of audience participation. Don’t miss it!
